Richmond Animal League (RAL) will host the eleventh annual Woofstock Festival presented by Petco Foundation on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Westchester Commons, Route 288 and Midlothian Turnpike.
Woofstock is a family-friendly dog festival with dog adoptions, music, vendors, games, and more. The event is free and open to the public; there is a $5.00 suggested donation for admission. All donations will go to benefit the mission of RAL, saving lives—providing hope, help and homes for animals in need. RAL hopes to raise over $58,000 from this event and is close to reaching their goal thanks to generous sponsors and community members. All funds go towards helping the 2,000+ animals rescued by the organization each year.
Petco Foundation is the presenting sponsor of Woofstock for the last three years. This $10,000 presenting sponsor grant will go directly towards helping at-risk cats and dogs in Central Virginia. Their support is truly life-saving.
Front and center at the festival will be the Strut Your Mutt fundraising dog walk at 11:30am. Community members and local businesses are currently forming “teams” to collect donations and raise much-needed funds. In 2017, over 130 community members and teams registered for the walk, including team Markel Mongrels – last year’s Strut Your Mutt Top Dog and this year’s team to beat. Walkers and teams are competing for the Top Dog fundraising award, to be announced before the walk. It’s not too late to join the fun and to start fundraising! All the funds raised go directly to the 2,000+ animals RAL sees each year.

The event will feature live music all day provided by Dividing Face and plenty of fun for the dogs, including games, treats, and contests. The whole family will also be able to enjoy the Kidz Zone with a stuffed animal clinic and face painting area, games and vendor area, and dog adoption area, which will include animal rescue groups from across the metro Richmond area.
All dogs must be current on vaccines and rabies shots. All dogs must be leashed at all times on a leash no longer than six feet. RAL reserves the right to refuse admission to any owner and their dog.
