Register to Win Admission for Six to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest
We declared 2021 the Year of the Field Trip so we could help families explore our region and learn about nature, history, and the arts.
Thomas Jefferson designed and built the villa at Poplar Forest as his private retreat. After retiring from public service in 1809, he visited – accompanied only by his enslaved butler and coachman, and in later years, his grandchildren – regularly throughout the year to oversee seasonal plantings and enjoy the solitude and creative inspiration he found there. Hear true stories about Jefferson’s lifestyle while in residence there and that of his enslaved workers, take the kids on a scavenger hunt through the grounds, and explore the exhibits in the lower level and the Wing of Offices. Today the historic home is open to the public for tours and special events.
Family field trip includes admission for six to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest in Forest, Virginia. (Retail value, $64)
Drawing is December 31.
