DESCRIPTION:Richmond’s only pool sprint triathlon, the RVA Sprint Triathlon in Rockville, VA, offers an incredibly welcoming, fast, and exciting environment for athletes of all skill levels. Whether you are a first-time triathlete looking for a friendly introduction to multisport racing or a seasoned competitor eager to test your limits, this event has a distance and format built just for you. Hosted at the scenic Rockville Center, the event features a classic sprint course consisting of a crisp pool swim, a rolling bike ride along beautiful rural roads, and an energetic out-and-back run. If you prefer to focus on specific disciplines, you can opt for the Duathlon (run-bike-run) or Aquabike (swim-bike) categories, or even grab friends to tackle the event as a relay team. There is also a dedicated beginner-only race division and a Kid’s Splash & Dash (swim-run) event, making it a perfect, action-packed weekend for the whole family. Elite athletes can also look forward to an exciting “battle of the sexes” format featuring a seeded wave start.
