SUMMARY:Senior Science: Tataki-zomé (Flower Pounding)
DESCRIPTION:Meet us on The Green as flowers and a historic craft combine for take-home artwork! Explore the Japanese botanical art technique of tataki-zomé, or flower pounding, in a hands-on workshop guided by an instructor from Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Guests will pound real flowers and leaves into fabric or paper to transfer their natural pigments, creating beautiful prints. Thanks to the generous support of Genworth, Senior Science events are free and open to the public. Space is limited to 40 participants and registration is required. This Senior Science event will be held outdoors on the NewMarket Plaza, weather permitting. Senior Science programming does not include admission to the Science Museum.
