Brighten your nights this fall on a wondrous new journey through the Japanese Garden. At the peak of fall colors, the garden will shine with dramatic light displays for an enchanting experience to delight families, couples and nature lovers of all ages. A schedule of fun activities will be offered on various evenings at the Robins Nature & Visitor Center where guests arrive for transport to the garden. In the Light (Robbins/ Chopin) and A World Premiere by Nicole Haskins. Robbins’ lilting In the Night features three contrasting sets of lovers who meet beneath the evening’s sky, all set to the music of Chopin played live by Joanne Kong. Nicole Haskins, an accomplished choreographer and member of Smuin Contemporary American Ballet.

Fletcher, an award-winning journalist, will talk about his newest book, Promised Land: A Novel of Israel. Promised Land is an epic saga of Israel’s early years and is the first novel in a planned trilogy. Fletcher was NBC correspondent in Israel for 26 years and bureau chief for 15 years. He has covered Kosovo, Rwanda, and Israel, including the first and second Palestinian uprisings and Israel’s war with Lebanon in 2006.
