Baby Shark Playdate
Bring your child to this shark themed playdate featuring musical instruments, dancing, singing, and of course a theater showing of the Baby Shark Music Video. Each child will go home with music and stuffed shark. Registration closes Feb 17th.

Experience this unique event and enjoy readings of African and African American children’s literature by members of the community in front of engaging works of art. Participants include Virginia Secretary of Education Atif Qarni. Children will also enjoy music, movement, and enrichment activities. Learn how the Meadow Farm and other 19th century enslaved people sought freedom both physically and spiritually. Explore the religion, music and folk tales that brought courage and hope to many.

Richmond Slave Trail is a walking trail that chronicles the history of the trade of enslaved Africans from Africa to Virginia until 1775 and away from Virginia, especially Richmond, to other locations in the Americas until 1865. The 1.8 mile walk will begin at the location of the Manchester Slave Docks at Ancarrow’s Landing and end downtown at the First African Baptist Church. Please bring water and weather appropriate clothing. For ages 8 years and over.

Irish novelist, dramatist, and screenwriter Roddy Doyle’s hilarious and provocative Two Pints started as a conversation on Facebook. Two men meet for a pint. Pull up a stool and listen in as they chew the fat and set the world to rights. There will be a pre-show buffet beginning 1 hour and 45 minutes before each performance.
