This fall, there are a variety of ways for families to have fun and give back to Richmond-area nonprofits and the communities they support! Whether you’re walking, running, crafting, shopping, or cheering, it’s easy to get involved – and have fun doing it. RFM is proud to sponsor these events:


Gingerbread House Challenge
Sunday, November 13
12 PM – 5 PM
Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Local businesses, nonprofits, and student groups form teams and display their holiday spirit and creativity by constructing a gingerbread house based on a central theme. Benefits Better Housing Coalition

Better2gether Halloween Hustle 5K
Saturday, October 29
9 AM – 12 PM
Performance Food Group

Wear your costume throughout the race and be eligible for their best costume contest. This year’s post-race festival will have food, activities, and sponsors will be on hand with a child friendly Trunk-or-Treat event. Benefits Better2gether


Regency Mile
Sunday, October 30
7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Regency Mall

The largest timed youth road race in Richmond with both in-person and virtual race options. After the race, stick around and enjoy a Fall Festival complete with costume contests, candy, games, and more.  Benefits free fitness programming in low-opportunity neighborhoods



Speak Up 5K

A race designed by Cameron Gallagher to raise awareness of teen depression and anxiety. Benefitting Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation

Chips 4 A Chance
Saturday, October 1
7 PM – 11 PM
ACCA Ballroom

Casino night for adults features entertainment, games, a silent auction, and more. Roaring Twenties attire is optional. Benefits Jacob’s Chance

Race for CHAnge Kids’ Run and 5K
Saturday, October 8

Event celebrates the lives of children who are battling cancer and commemorates those who have died. Benefits childhood cancer research at hospitals including Children’s National Hospital, Johns Hopkins and Massachusetts General Hospital

Craft + Design

Craft + Design Craft + Design is a contemporary craft show and sale, produced by the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, that showcases the finest in museum-quality craft and features food vendors and art activities for children. Benefits Visual Arts Center of Richmond

Step Up for Down Syndrome 5K & Family Festival

Dorey Park

Whether you have a child with Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and donate or register today. Benefits Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond.


Touch a Truck

Saturday, October 15
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Richmond Raceway

Children can explore vehicles of all types, including public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation, delivery, and more. Benefits Junior League of Richmond

Blue Sky Hike for Kids

Saturday, October 22
8:45 AM – 4:30 PM
Virginia War Memorial

Richmond hikers will enjoy some of the best urban trails in the country with either a 3, 8 or 14-mile loop. All are welcomed to celebrate the journey at a post-hike party with food, beer, games and live music. Benefitting Blue Sky Fund


Rassawek Autumn Festival

Saturday, October 22 and Sunday October 23
Rassawek Vineyard

Celebrate the bounties of fall with demos of American traditions and culture. Kids will be able to participate in classic fall activities (with a little Rassawek twist), such as a fall inspired maze, face painting, animals, pony rides, barnyard races and hands on learning.

Proceeds from this event go toward vocational education.
