RFM KICKS OFF EDUCATION INITIATIVE
Richmond Family Magazine (RFM) recently launched Education Shout-Out, a contest initiative designed to give readers a forum for sharing ideas to help schools throughout Greater Richmond enhance learning opportunities. Through Education Shout-Out, area parents and educators can share real-world examples of success stories. Whether it is a PTA venture that engages families, a teacher/student-led project that enhances facilities, or an after-school project, readers are encouraged to nominate individual accounts of programs that were executed in their elementary school and preschool communities.
Beginning May 1, RFM readers will vote from the nominations online and the program receiving the most votes will win a prize package for the school, including a concert from award-winning family entertainer, Hope Harris, and refreshments from Tropical Smoothie Café.
“Last year, an in-school recycling program from Chesterfield won the contest and the kids were so proud,” said Margaret Thompson, RFM publisher. “This contest is a good way to strengthen the connection between schools and families, something ?we all know is crucial to learning success.”
To nominate your school’s program, visit RFMonline.com and click on Education Shout-Out. Tell the elementary or preschool’s success story in 250 words or less. Nominations close April 30. Reader voting will begin May 1. The winning program and school will be determined by May 31. Official Education Shout-Out rules are available on the RFM website.
