Richmond Natives Serving in the Navy

A Richmond, Virginia, native is serving with the U.S. Navy’s cutting-edge maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft squadron in Jacksonville, Florida.

Petty Officer 1st Class Delford Lassiter joined the Navy seventeen years ago. Today, Lassiter serves as an aviation electrician’s mate.

“My mother and father both served in the Army, so I’m honored to continue a military legacy,” said Lassiter. “My father retired after 21 years, and he set a great example for me. I aspire to retire from the Navy as he did from the Army.”
