River City Segs is proud to announce its new Women in RVA History Segway Tour. The 2-hour Segway tour begins March 1, 2014, which also begins Women’s History Month. Like all of River City Segs 2-hour tours this tour is $59 per person, but to celebrate Women’s History Month and the unveiling of this tour River City Segs is offering a $19 discount. The number 19 is to honor the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote nationally, and to which some of the women featured on the tour focused so much of their energy.
The tour covers many influential women in Richmond’s past that have helped to shape the city and the world, including: preservationist Mary Winfield Scott, banker Maggie Walker, hospital administrator Captain Sally Tompkins, Union spy Elizabeth Van Lew, and Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Glasgow, among others.
This tour makes a number of stops between River City Segs and the Jefferson Hotel to discuss these influential women. Stops include the State Capitol, Ellen Glasgow House, and much more.
The tour will be given Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 PM or upon request. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 804-343-6105.
