At the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, kids ages 6 to 18 spend the summer making real art with the help of some of Richmond’s most prominent professional artists.
Weeklong summer camp sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m., and parents can opt to enroll kids in an extended day program that runs through the lunch hour and until 5 p.m.
Choose from 185 courses that touch a wide range of artistic media. Some favorites include photography, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry making, cartooning, filmmaking and creative writing.
High school students who want to improve their technique and add significant work to their portfolios should register for Art League courses.
