Memorial Day Commemoration

A special Memorial Day program will begin at 12:30 p.m. Visitors will learn about a number of specific soldiers and their personal experiences during the Civil War.  Their stories illustrate the causes and consequences of the Civil War. The program will include an artillery firing followed by the presentation of the colors and a playing of Taps. Programming will conclude with Civil War musical selections performed by the Haversacks & Hardtack String Band in the Education Center.

Breakthrough Beer and Wine Fest

Enjoy live music with The Rhythm Kings and Joe's Day Off while tasting beer and wine in the park's Freedom Garden. A Halloween themed event featuring costumed guides portraying “agents of death” as they lead participants by candlelight on a spine-chilling tour through the historic park and battlefield that were fought over generations ago. Tea and Tidings

Families will enjoy the opportunity for children to meet a ‘Thomas Nast’ Santa Claus including photo opportunities and the chance to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate. Children will have the opportunity to participate in a craft making activity and personalize and sign holiday cards for mailing to active duty soldiers serving abroad who away from home for the holidays.
