Fine Arts Festival to be held at KWHS
What is the KWPSEF? And why does it hold a fine arts festival?
The King William Public Schools Education Foundation (KWPSEF) was formed in 2006. Its mission: to raise money to enhance and expand educational opportunities for the students of King William County through community-wide participation and philanthropy.
In 2003, the school underwent a renovation project that was to include a new gym and an auditorium. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the budget for the auditorium was used elsewhere in that project. The high school currently uses the gymnasium for assemblies, concerts, theater performances and the like. KWPSEF’s first goal is to fund the eventual construction of a fine arts complex at King William High School and provide the students and our community with an appropriate venue for these types of events.
KWPSEF presents its 3rd annual Fine Arts Festival, April 20, 2013 from 12-5pm. Come witness the finest collection of local student performing and visual artists to ever appear in one venue in one afternoon. Student artwork will be on display. Performances by local public school bands, choruses and dramatic arts students and various individual performances will occur. Special appearances will be made by Dawn’s School of Dance, the King William County Concert Band and professional local artists. Browse the silent auction featuring donated items from both local businesses and friends of KWPSEF from abroad. Items include handmade jewelry, dinner for two, fishing equipment, gym memberships, works of art from local artists, a Droid tablet and a rare photograph of the old King William High School. Food concessions will also be sold.
Adult entrance fee is $2.00. Students and children are free. The monies raised from this event will be used to fund the eventual construction of a fine arts complex for our community and its students. We also accept donations via the website, www.kwauditorium.org and through mail: KWPSEF at P.O.
