Virginia First Lady Pamela Northam announced the Valentine’s six 2021 Richmond History Makers during a Facebook Live event.
Based on six categories, the 2021 Richmond History Makers are:
For Creating Quality Educational Opportunities:
Chuck English – Virginia STEM coordinator
For Demonstrating Innovative Economic Solutions:
Floyd E. Miller II – president and CEO Metropolitan Business League
For Improving Regional Transportation:
Lloyd “Bud” Vye – Biking and pedestrian advocate
For Championing Social Justice:
Chloe Edwards – Advocacy and engagement manager at Voices for Virginia’s Children
For Promoting Community Health:
Health Brigade – Represented by Executive Director Karen Legato
For Advancing Quality of Life:
Hamilton Glass – Muralist and community advocate
The sixteenth annual Richmond History Makers and Community Update on March 9 will celebrate these hometown heroes and provide an update on the region’s resiliency during a challenging year.
The event will be free and take place virtually, with the Valentine and the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond joining forces again to recognize these trailblazers. Long-time partner Dominion Energy is returning as the event’s title sponsor.
