Open to boys and girls ages 10-15, the camp will be led by Richard Moncure, S.T.R.E.A.M. Director at St. Margaret’s and the 2022 Virginia Association Independent Schools Teacher of the Year. S.T.R.E.A.M. is the school’s one-of-a-kind curriculum that integrates the nearby River and natural surroundings with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning.
Campers will ‘learn by doing’ with action-packed days filled with research and plenty of fun. A typical day will include pulling crab pots, identifying river species, sailing, riding jet skis, swimming, and more.
Families can sign up for any of the four 1-week session. Space is limited to 20 campers per week. Sessions are $600/week, and shuttle service is available from Fredericksburg, Mechanicsville, and Kilmarnock, VA (fees apply).
Situated on the banks of the Rappahannock River, St. Margaret’s is well-equipped for learning and fun on the water. The main campus has a swimming pool, two docks, an outdoor classroom, and a floating dock at its Hoskins Creek Athletic Facility. Campers can access sunfish sailboats, motor boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, canoes, and more.
