A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Mrs. Maggie Lena Walker: A Woman for All Seasons

Celebrate the 160th anniversary of the birth of Mrs. Maggie Lena Walker (1864-1934), the first known Black woman to found and become president of a chartered bank in America. The program will also honor her landmark contributions to public health, civil rights, women’s suffrage, and education. Keynote Speaker: Elvatrice Parker Belsches BA, BS Pharm, MA is the author of Richmond, Virginia: Black America Series.
