This September, join Richmond Public Library in celebrating Library Card Signup Month. Visit one of nine neighborhood Richmond Public Library branches to sign up for your library card. A library card is a connection to an exciting array of resources and opportunities, from the latest books to engaging programs tailored for all ages.
Richmond Public Library has something for everyone. For families with young children, a library card is the ultimate back-to-school supply. Look for a diverse range of exciting programs for kids, teens, and adults. Participate in book clubs, enjoy creative arts and crafts, and engage in educational activities like LEGO clubs and storytimes. Richmond Public Library also offers homework help, author talks, art exhibits, and numerous other enriching events.
Libraries are hubs for personal growth and community enrichment. Whether you’re interested in exploring a new hobby, learning a new language, or starting a small business, there are resources and workshops to assist you. You can even borrow blood pressure kits and museum passes.
Get In on the Fun at Nine RPL Locations
In a sweet collaboration, the library teamed up with Gelati Celesti to create a new flavor called Ripple’s Choco-lit Cherry Pie. This exclusive flavor was taste-tested and named by library patrons and features rich chocolate ice cream blended with Bing cherries and pie crust pieces.
Beginning September 1, you can visit any Richmond area Gelati Celesti location to sample this limited-edition flavor. Better yet, anyone who signs up for a Richmond Public Library card this month will receive a bookmark with a coupon for a free scoop, valid at any Richmond Gelati Celesti shop through July 31, 2025 (while supplies last).
Life is busy, so library staff will be out in the community to make signing up for your new library card as easy as possible. Look for us at local restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, festivals, and even beauty salons. Keep an eye out for pop-up libraries, and if you spot one, grab your card, snap a selfie, and share it with us on social media by tagging @RichmondPublicLibrary on Facebook and @rvalibrary on Instagram.
