11th Education and Transition Conference

March 15 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$

Join general and special educators, parents, self-advocates, and other professionals from Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region to discover how to better educate children and young adults with disabilities. The conference offers three tracks: inclusive education, transition, and self-advocate. Receive a certificate of attendance. The keynote speaker is Natalie Hale, an award-winning author, an innovative educator, parent of an adult son with Down syndrome, and for 28 years, a national and international speaker on the topic of teaching reading to learners with Down syndrome and other developmental delays. Plus a track just for self-advocates with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (ages 14 and older), which will include sessions on teamwork and self-advocacy, vision board creation, and a musical therapy session. Note that the self-advocate ticket offers flexibility – Self-advocates can attend the self-advocate track or attend sessions in the other tracks.
