Living History – The American War for Independence
In early 1776, the Hanover County militia mustered and trained before heading to Williamsburg to enlist in the 6th Virginia Regiment. The Living History reenactors of The Virginia Line will exhibit how they did it. Talk to the soldiers and learn how they trained, dressed, ate, slept, and lived life in camp. There will be firing demonstrations, camp cooking exhibits, and displays of daily life for colonial soldiers. We will also have a variety of colonial children’s games to enjoy. Kids can even train & take part in a drill! While you’re here, enjoy a delicious lunch at Hanover Tavern Restaurant & Pub.
