Dungeons & Dragons Script Writing Course
Join us for our adventure-packed Dungeon’s & Dragon’s Script Writing Course– and YOU could be the next Duffer Brothers! Come for the adventure, leave with the skills you need to write a script of your very own! In this course, students will start by embarking on a beginner-friendly collaborative role-playing campaign guided by a team of seasoned adventure guides, as well as, a weathered D&D Dungeon Master. After three sessions of role-playing through a specifically tailored Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a small group of 6 participants. You’ll be led through the fundamentals of script writing with a professionally trained artist. Participants will not only learn the basic formatting for creating a script but also the fundamentals of narrative structure, character development, and dialogue, drawing on spontaneous creativity and stagecraft expertise. The curriculum is designed not only to teach writing skills on a professional playwriting software, but also to foster teamwork and communication as the campaign works together to bring their theatrical visions to life! ABOUT VIRGINIA REPERTORY THEATRE Virginia Repertory Theatre is a not-for-profit professional theater headquartered in downtown Richmond, and one of the largest performing arts organizations in Central Virginia. Virginia Rep acts as a community partner by offering other theatre companies the opportunity to produce shows in the Theatre Gym free of charge, participation in the Virginia Commission for the Arts Passport Program – where recipients of Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) benefits in Virginia can access up to six free tickets per title, community ticket grants, and pay-what-you-will opportunities. The theatre is also returning sensory friendly performances and continuing their work with VirginiaVoice for audio-described performances and is now certified with KultureCity and VisitAble.
