Discover unforgettable animal encounters at Maymont with three new Virginia Wildlife Trail experiences designed to bring you up close to some of Virginia’s native species. Choose from one of three animals for an up-close look at Big Bear or Little Bear, Monty the bobcat, or one of Maymont’s porcupines, Barb or Sandy. Learn about the animal’s behaviors, adaptations and natural history from Maymont’s animal experts while observing these curious creatures up close. Scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from spring through fall, each of these small group encounters includes an animal enrichment session, a Q&A with Maymont staff, and a photo opportunity. Children must be at least 4 years of age.
