RVA Mile & 5k (AKA Regency Mile)

The RVA Mile & 5K is a family-friendly running event bringing together kids, adults, schools, and the greater Richmond community for fitness, fun, and purpose. For more than 16 years, the RVA Mile has proudly served as Richmond’s largest timed youth road race. With the addition of a 5K, runners of even more ages and abilities can join the fun. Race options include the 5K, Kids’ Mile, Adult Mile, and 400m Express Run for children ages 5 and under. Hosted by the Live Red Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the event supports free fitness programs for youth in Richmond’s lowest-opportunity neighborhoods. These programs combine physical activity, mentorship, and essential life skills. Local schools can also participate in the School Competition, where students, families, teachers, and supporters race for their school. More than $2,000 is awarded to local schools to support physical education programs. After the races, families can enjoy the Fall Family Festival with activities and community partners.
