Throw out the rule of “look but don’t touch!” The 7th Annual Lamb Arts Fest in historic downtown Hopewell lets families get their hands dirty and unleash creativity. Unlike traditional art festivals, where you browse and buy art, this interactive street fest transforms East Broadway into a massive outdoor studio with more than 25 interactive art-making stations for all ages and skill levels. Step inside the massive Virginia Museum of Fine Arts traveling ArtMobile exhibition. Little ones can burn off energy in the dedicated Children’s Play Zone. Enjoy live performances and work alongside working Richmond artists like Federico Infante, Raven & Crow Studios, Michael-Birch Pierce, Studio Two Three, Richmond Performing Arts Alliance, Art on Wheels, and CultureWorks. This year’s festival marks the 10-year anniversary of the Lamb Center for Arts and Healing. Founded in 2016 on the belief that the arts support individual well-being and strengthen communities, the nonprofit serves thousands of Tri-City residents each year through arts education, public art, and youth programs. The festival is in the heart of historic downtown Hopewell, within easy walking distance of local shops and the historic Beacon Theatre. Stroller accessible. If it rains, we’ll move indoors – come rain or shine!
