Insights on the Life & Art of Thornton Dial | Dr. Jim Sellman

Richmond residents Jim and Barbara Sellman have loaned nearly all of the Thornton Dial works now on view in Becomingfrom their private collection. Their 28-year friendship with Dial gave the Sellmans a rare view of the man behind the work and the way he saw history and human spirit in the materials others left behind. Join us next Wednesday, October 7, from 6–7:30 PM for an evening with Dr. Jim Sellman as he draws on that friendship to offer a personal look at Thornton Dial’s life, work and his remarkable rise to national recognition. Tickets include admission to Becoming, wine and light bites. Free parking is available in the First Baptist Parking lot next to the museum.
