The Park at RVA: Exploring a New Entertainment Venue for Families

There’s a new entertainment venue in town for both family and grown-up fun, and it’s one you’re going to have to see to believe.

Our family was recently hosted for a tour and dinner at The Park at RVA, and our first impression was a collective, “It’s huge!” Unlike anything in the Richmond area, this 55,000-square foot brand new concept is the brainchild of a group of investors who visited venues all over the country and combined the best of what they saw – and then some –  into what is now The Park at RVA. The grand opening was November 30, 2022.

Located near the Diamond, at the end of the road near the Richmond SPCA and Feed More (and in the same building as CodeRVA High School), a wall of greenery with a bright neon sign and two swings greet you at the main entrance. The spot is screaming to have its picture taken for social media sharing.

The Park at RVA is a family fun spot by afternoon and a twenty-one and up hot spot after seven.

Here’s what‘s inside:

  • Duckpin Bowling: 18 lanes of bowling fun, $6 per person per game on Wednesdays and Thursdays, $8 per person per game on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Wonderball With its vibrant colors and creative designs, the 18-hole indoor mini golf course is perfect for all ages. $11 per person for 9 holes, $17 for 18 holes on Wednesdays and Thursdays; $15 per person for 9 holes and $20 per person for 18 holes on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Virtual Golf: Tee off on some of the world’s most iconic golf courses while you enjoy food and drinks at their state-of-the-art golf simulators. Semi-private and private options, ranging from $40-$90 per hour.
  • Karaoke: The state of art room dedicated to karaoke fun is available for rent for private events.
  • Comedy Club: The Play at RVA Comedy Club opened last week and features a large stage and stadium-style seating. Beverage service is allowed throughout the theater. The venue also has three couches in the first row that can accommodate 8 people per couch and offers food and beverage service. Check their website and Facebook page for the lineup of comedians.
  • Photo Station: Richmond’s own Matt Lively painted the colorful backdrop in this fun photo/video station that features flashback technology to capture guests’ photos as they enter the building, converting them into 3D gifs designed for social sharing.
  • Adult Beverages: The Park at RVA is home to the longest bar in the state, coming in at 60 feet, and one of three bars on the premises. There are also thirty self-service beer and cider taps in the beer garden, along with a giant tv and a stage with live music nightly. The craft cocktails are as beautiful as they are delicious, think custom made ice cubes and fresh flowers. If you’re really in the mood to splurge, they have a large bottle service menu as well.

The Park at RVA is home to the longest bar in the state, coming in at 60 feet, and one of three bars on the premises. The family facility transitions to a twenty-one and up bar after seven.

There are six food court-style eateries, with something for everyone in your family:

  • Bowl Mama: A selection of signature bowls, with six proteins to choose from and a variety of greens, rices, sides, and sauces.
  • Chick Flick: A southern style chicken joint, featuring a variety of sandwiches and wings (we loved the spicy chicken sandwich and the garlic and parm wings)
  • Vinny Smasharino’s: Neapolitan brick oven pizzas and smash burgers
  • Pico Freako: Tacos and quesadillas (we were fans of the tuna al pastor tacos and carne asada quesadillas)
  • Nori Squad: Creative Asian cuisine, featuring a variety of hand rolls, classic rolls, bahn-mi and bao buns, plus saké.
  • Sweet OG’s: Words can’t describe how happy this place made our family with its assortment of exotic cakes, donuts, eclairs, cream puffs, mousse cups, Gelati Celesti ice cream, old school cookies, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and tea, plus shakes and boozy shakes. All the thumbs up for the cookies & cream shake.

All of the entertainment (golf bays, mini golf, bowling) is first come first served, however they take reservations for parties of fifteen or more with a food and beverage minimum. Mom tip: This would be a great birthday party venue for kids.
