NEW YORK, November 14, 2013 – Angelia Shay, an agent with New York Life’s Richmond General Office, has been named president of Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS). WIFS is the preeminent professional organization for women in the financial services industry. The organization is dedicated toattracting women to the financial services sector, helping them develop their talents and advancing them toward their fullest potential. As president of WIFS, Mrs. Shay oversees the mission of this organization of 1,000 members and 24 local chapters.
Mrs. Shay joined New York Life in 1994 and holds CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) professional designations. She is a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow and in 2005 and 2007 was named the Agent of the Year by New York Life’s Richmond General Office – the first woman in the Richmond General Office of New York Life to receive this sales achievement award.
