Miracle Treat Day Means a DQ Blizzard Helps Kids at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU

Funds raised during Miracle Treat Day Thursday, July 25, help children treated at their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. 

Thursday, July 25, is Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day. Participating Dairy Queen® locations across the U.S. will come together to raise funds and awareness for 170 Children’s Miracle Network affiliated children’s hospitals.  Since 1984, the Dairy Queen system has raised more than $150 million for CMN Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada through fundraising efforts including Miracle Treat Day, the point-of-sale Miracle Balloon campaign and other initiatives.

On Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold at participating locations across the Richmond area will be donated to Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR). Funds raised will help support the 62,000+ area children who rely on the hospital each year and ensure all children have access to the health care they need and deserve. Philanthropic support through initiatives like Miracle Treat Day provides opportunity for growth and improvement of patient services, acquisition of essential equipment and allows for critical facility advancements, like the new inpatient children’s hospital currently underway at CHoR. Last year, Richmond-area restaurants raised more than $13,000 on Miracle Treat Day.

To help celebrate Miracle Treat Day, fans are encouraged to visit a restaurant to purchase a Blizzard and post a photo on social media with #MiracleTreatDay, then invite others to join them by purchasing a Blizzard treat, too.
