On Friday, June 26, Southside Speedway will host seven divisions of stock car racing including Late Models, Modifieds, Grand Stocks, Street Stocks, U-Cars, Legends and Bandoleros. The Late Model feature race will be in honor of Garland Harris, who has handled track radios and serviced race team radios at Southside Speedway and throughout Virginia.
Midway through the 2015 season, the points race shifts in two divisions as Lane Janosik takes the top spot in the Grand Stock division. Janosik now has a two point lead over Bobby Curtis. And Cole Bruce now leads the Bandolero division by one point over DJ Elzey. With six more races remaining this season, all divisions are sure to put on a show!
Gates open to the public at 6:00 p.m., Practice starts at 5:30 p.m., Qualifying starts at 6:00 p.m., and racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
Southside Speedway is a 1/3 mile, paved oval track located on Genito Road in Midlothian, Virginia. The speedway was established in 1959 by J.M. Wilkinson and is currently run by his daughter, Sue W. Clements. The speedway features seven divisions including Late Models, Modifieds, Grand Stocks, Street Stocks, U-Cars, Legends and Bandoleros. In 2015 the speedway hosts twelve nights of racing from April 3, 2015 through August 28, 2015.
