Take a journey through space and time during Science After Dark at the Science Museum of Virginia on Friday, July 15. The Museum presents an evening of engaging summer science with interstellar voyages, family-style trivia, hands-on activities, and special presentations in The Dome.
In The Dome, guests will navigate the universe alongside an astronomer during two all-live Cosmic Expeditions at 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. After traveling the cosmos on the largest screen in the state, guests will go back in time with a special screening of the classic movie, Labyrinth, the 1986 film starring David Bowie, at 8 o’clock.
Before the shows, guests can explore three floors of interactives exhibits and join in dynamic science activities. From building a LEGO® labyrinth to creating a soaring satellite and a team trivia challenge to a ping pong ball explosion. Guests are invited to take a journey through the twists and turns of the cosmos, before stepping outside to stargaze through telescopes with the Richmond Astronomical Society.
Science After Dark is a monthly evening event held on the third Friday of the month at the Science Museum of Virginia. The next Science After Dark will be held on Friday, August 19, featuring former USA Olympic Swimmer, Jeff Rouse, and Minute to Win It STEM-style challenges.
Science After Dark admission is $10. Museum members enjoy free exhibit admission, $5 for Dome pass including Cosmic Expedition and the featured movie. Advance reservations are recommended. Please call 804.864.1400 to reserve your seats.
