Registration is open for the first “Play It Forward” ladies doubles tennis event to benefit VCU Massey Cancer Center.
The family-friendly event takes place Saturday, March 19, at the Wellesley tennis courts in Short Pump. The entry fee to play is a $100 donation to Massey. Participants have the option of donating themselves or fundraising. Along with tennis, there will be lawn games and a silent auction.
Host and cancer survivor Tara Daudani is part of the Women & Wellness committee, a group of volunteers organizing a series of events throughout the year to promote advocacy, education and fundraising for women’s cancer research at Massey.
“Staying active is an important part of my post-cancer lifestyle and tennis is my favorite activity,” Daudani said. “I wanted to host an event that is fun, promotes physical activity and contributes to the very important research happening at Massey.”
There are forty-eight spots available and participants must pre-register by March 14.
