Above the Ashes Family Fire Prevention Event & Children’s Book Launch

Celebrate the launch of Above the Ashes, a children’s book inspired by the real-life story of Hanover Fire Lieutenant Colin Bunn and his family, who lost their home to a devastating fire in 2023. The event will feature fire safety talks with experts. Families will receive essential fire prevention tips and learn about family insurance must-knows. Kids will enjoy live firefighter demonstrations, including a gear demo, and get an up-close look at fire trucks. Special guests Nutzy and Nutasha, the beloved mascots from the Richmond Flying Squirrels, will join the festivities to entertain families. Local food trucks will be on-site offering tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. Anyone who registers before October 7th will receive a free Kona Ice voucher to use at the event. Registration is required. Benefits Victory Junction Camp, a nonprofit that provides life-changing camp experiences for children with serious medical conditions.
