Back to School Mentor Open House

Gun violence, economic insecurity, unequal access to education, and limited mental health resources are pressing issues affecting young people across Virginia, especially in Black and Hispanic communities. This event, hosted in collaboration with seven mentoring programs in Central Virginia, seeks to match volunteer mentors with youth currently on waiting lists. Mentorship offers benefits such as improved school attendance, healthier lifestyle choices, stronger relationships, higher educational aspirations, and greater self-confidence.
