Book Launch for Tony Gentry’s Covenant City
Local favorite Tony Gentry is back with a satirical novel that sounds all too realistic. Tony will be in conversation with Katy Munger, author of Monkey See Monkey Do on Saturday, June 6th at 1PM. Covenant City: a sharp-edged satire of a dystopian future we may very well be spiraling into. Near-future: Martial law declared. Elections canceled. Congress and the Courts dissolved. The White House launches an audacious plan to “racially purify” the nation, one region at a time. Richmond is the first to fall, renamed and remade as an all-white “homegrown heritage” city. This is the harrowing story of a young white man who falls in with a multi-ethnic band of rebels and is sent into the city as a spy. Tony Gentry is the author of the speculative fiction novel Covenant City. His previous book, the biographical novel The Night Doctor of Richmond, about the Medical College of Virginia’s notorious 19th Century grave robber Chris Baker, was short-listed for the Faulkner Society Prize as was his debut novel The Coal Tower. Katy Munger the author of the Casey Jones crime fiction series; the Hubbert & Lil cozy series; and the Dead Detective paranormal mystery series.
