Family Day | Celebrate the Art of Latin America: Brazil

Celebrate the art, culture, and traditions of Brazil.  See engaging music presentations and dance performances by the Latin Ballet of Virginia and take part in collaborative community projects and hands-on art activities. Participants in creative workshops, led by 1708 Gallery, can craft a paper lantern inspired by Brazil’s breathtaking landscapes. Other fun, hands-on activities will include decorating a Carnival masquerade prop, making a paper soccer jersey keychain, constructing a paper relief inspired by VMFA’s collection, designing a paper plate tambourine, and collaborating on a mosaic featuring Brazilian imagery. In addition, between 12:30 pm and 2 pm, visitors can meet Kickeroo, the celebrated mascot of the Richmond Kickers soccer team, and enter for a chance to win a special Richmond Kickers prize package. Activities are recommended for children ages 3 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All ages welcome.
