From the Archives: Valentine’s Day During Wartime

February 14 @ 10:30 am 11:30 am

The simple act of sending and receiving a Valentine’s Day card or letter provided a boost in morale among service members grappling with homesickness on the war front and eased the anxieties of those at home. Join Virginia War Memorial Archivist Sylvia Marshall on the day of love as she looks at Valentine’s Day during wartime and reflect on stories of love, life, and combat found in the archives.
