Games from Around the World
Join us for engaging spring break programming inspired by traditional play from across the globe and designed especially for elementary-age visitors! This program introduces kids to global traditions through play and friendly competition! After playing, be sure to visit We the People: The World in Our Commonwealth to discover the journeys, cultures, and contributions of immigrants who have made Virginia home. Games include: Yut Nori (South Korea): A simple, fast-paced board game where players toss Yut sticks (used like dice) to move pieces around the board. First to complete the circuit wins! Daruma Otoshi (Japan): A classic stacking game where players use a small hammer to knock out colorful discs without toppling the daruma figure on top. Kanche (India): A marble-shooting game where players aim to hit or knock marbles out of a target area using a single “shooter” marble. Al Rein (Qatar): A tower-building challenge where one player constructs the tallest tower possible while another tries to knock it down with a ball. The fastest rebuild time wins! This is a drop in program. Stop by anytime between 10:00am–12:00pm. This program is included with Daily Museum Admission.
