Holiday Liberty or Death Reenactment
Patrick Henry and eight delegates to the Second Virginia Convention debate establishing a militia, culminating in Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!” Nine professional actors in 18th century costumes portray George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, and others in a theatrical presentation of the historic events of March 1775, in the very room where they happened 250 years ago.

Our mission is to spark a global appreciation for understanding the role that Patrick Henry’s “Liberty or Death” speech had in setting America on its path to liberty for all, and to ignite the public’s commitment for preserving the historic site where it happened.

Opened in 1741, St. John’s Church was the location of the Second Virginia Convention, where Patrick Henry gave his “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech on March 23, 1775. Located at 2401 East Broad Street, Richmond VA 23223.
