Marshall Scholar Series: Richard Haass

An evening with Dr. Richard Haass, diplomat and renowned policymaker, for a discussion of his most recent book, The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens, a provocative guide to re-envision citizenship if American democracy is to survive. Haass argues that rights alone cannot provide the basis for a functioning, much less flourishing, democracy, and that the cure lies in placing obligations on the same footing as rights.
