Maymont Mansion Open House & Garden Party

Celebrate the reopening of Maymont Mansion after a major restoration project! The 1893 home will reopen its doors after two years of restoration and conservation work through the Maymont 2025 project. On Saturday, March 21, from 10am to 4pm, the mansion will be open for free walk-throughs of the formal rooms of the main level, where the Dooleys entertained friends and members of Richmond society. Scheduled guided tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Out on the Mansion lawn, enjoy refreshments from local food trucks, plus live entertainment and activities for all ages throughout the day, like lawn games, crafts, and dancers showing how to do the Charleston and other dances from the 1920s, when the home and estate first opened to the public. Members of the Art Deco Society of Virginia will be on hand wearing their best Jazz Age styles, plus the Richmond Region Antique Car Club will bring some vintage cars from the 1920s and ’30s. This is the first of three big events celebrating Maymont’s 100th anniversary year!
