Martha “Patsey” Henry Fontaine (1755-1818) Debbie Phillips, a renowned living history interpreter, brings Patrick Henry’s eldest child to St. John’s Church. Patsey witnessed her father’s burgeoning political career as a child and helped care for her mother Sarah Shelton at a time when mental illness was seen as evidence of witchcraft or demonic possession. Learn about what life was like in the home of the “Voice of Revolution” through his devoted daughter’s experiences.
