Ray Cooney’s landmark farce about a London cab driver (John Smith) who has worked out a meticulous schedule for secretly maintaining two separate households and two wives. When John gets mugged one night, his secrets are in danger of exposure and hilarity ensues! Mr. Cooney brilliantly crafts a script in which two separate locations occupy the same space, simultaneously, onstage. Sounds like it couldn’t possibly work, but it does – to great effect.
