Scotchtown’s 5th Annual Fiber Festival
Save the date to join us on April 11, 2026 as we celebrate spring, shearing of the sheep, and fiber production at Scotchtown’s 5th Annual Fiber Festival! Bring your family and join us as we celebrate spring, the shearing of the sheep, and fiber production at Scotchtown on Saturday April 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! Sheep shearers from Delly’s Delights Farms will be here answering all your questions about our sheep, the process of shearing, and the important role of preparing the fleece for dyeing and spinning. Members from Clothos Handspinners guild, an educational non-profit organization located in Richmond, Virginia, and the Louisa County Heritage Society will be on-site demonstrating the process of wool production including carding, spinning, weaving and dyeing. Other activities to enjoy throughout the day: *VMFA 250 Artmobile *Special Exhibit of 18th and 19th century clothing and textiles *Open House Tours *Alpaca petting area *Children’s activities area including an inflatable maze *Demonstrations in the hearth kitchen featuring our spring garden *Local crafters, vendors and community organizations *Food trucks The open-house tour and fiber festival programs are both included at $10 for General Admission. Students and Preservation Virginia members are $5 and children 12 and under are free. Dogs and other pets are not permitted at this event with the exception of trained and documented service animals.
