“Sorry, Most Sorry”: An Adaptation of “The Winter’s Tale” for Young Audiences
Some stories begin with “once upon a time.” Ours begins with a king who lets jealousy steal everything he loved. Years later, it will take two determined sisters, a stolen bear, and the power of a heartfelt apology to set things right. “Sorry, Most Sorry” is a playful, heart-filled retelling of Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale,” crafted especially for young audiences. This quick and engaging 30-minute performance is perfect for families, school groups, and anyone curious about Shakespeare’s world. Enjoy a unique, one-of-a-kind performance designed for young audiences. This special event is produced by the American Shakespeare Center. Written and adapted by Devlin Ford. The play will be followed by a talkback with the actors. Garden admission is included. Families may arrive early to picnic and stay after the play to enjoy and explore Agecroft’s gardens and grounds. Children ages 6 and under come free! In the event of inclement weather or other conditions that would reasonably compromise safety or performance quality, the event will be postponed to Sunday, June 14th, and all tickets will automatically transfer. Should audience size allow, in the case of inclement weather, the performance may be moved indoors. Title image courtesy of the American Shakespeare Center.
