Story Time at the Memorial: Black History Month

Join us for Storytime at the Memorial at the Virginia War Memorial, for FREE educator-led readings of children’s history books and craft activities. Families are welcome, with the suggested age range for kids 4 to 10 years old. Every month is a new theme and book! Preregistration is not required to attend and participate. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. February’s featured book is “Wind Flyers” by Angela Johnson. After the reading, children will assemble and decorate toy airplanes, design and press Storytime buttons, color Valentine’s Day coloring sheets and more. Families will meet special guests Howard Jr. & Richard Baugh of the Howard Baugh Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Learn about the Army Air Corps during WWII and the experience of Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Howard Baugh, from his sons.
