During the Summer of 1939, Germany accused Poland of several incursions on its sovereign soil including an August 31 attack on a German radio station at Gleiwitz. Had Germany really been attacked? The following day, Germany demonstrated the use of Blitzkrieg, or lightning warfare, by attacking Poland.
