Materials
- 3 pipe cleaners
- 1 straw
- 2 big beads
- 6 pony beads
- 1 permanent marker
- Ruler
- Scissors
Instructions
- Cut your straw into eight equal pieces, approximately 1-inch long.
- Hold three pipe cleaners together, making sure the ends are all lined up. Find their middle and twist them together several times until they are secure. They should resemble cat whiskers.
- Bring one of the three pipe cleaners over to the opposite side, making sure there are four ends on one side and two ends on the other. Rotate your work so the side with four ends is on the top and the side with two ends is on the bottom.
- Hold the two middle pipe cleaners on top together and slide your wood bead onto them. Bring the bead all the way down to the center where you twisted the pipe cleaners together. This is the head of your pipe cleaner person.
- Repeat the process by sliding a few beads onto the bottom of the other two pipe cleaners and bring them down to the center. This will be the torso and belly.
- On each limb, slide on one straw, followed by one bead, and then one more straw.
- Form hands and feet by making a loop and tucking the ends of the pipe cleaners back into the straws.
- Bend the pipe cleaners coming out of the top of the head into fun shapes to give your friend a cool hairdo.
- Draw a face on the wood bead with a permanent marker.
- Introduce yourself to your new little friend!
