Materials
Cardstock, watercolor paper, or other thick paper
Colorful crayons
A white crayon
Watercolor paints, water, and a paintbrush
Paper towel
A placemat to work on
Instructions
1. Draw your design using crayons on paper. It’s quite a challenge to draw with white crayon on white paper since you can’t see what you’re doing, so it can be helpful to draw your design lightly using a colored crayon or pencil and then color over it heavily with the white crayon. This technique works with colorful crayons as well, but the white crayon looks best.
2. Using watercolors, paint over the paper. Pass over the paper just once with each brush stroke, and your image will magically appear!
3. If you have large areas of crayon, the paint may bead up on it. Use a paper towel to dab off any excess paint.
4. Let dry and then display or write on the back and give to a friend!
