Nature Lovers of All Ages Unite!

Make a Bird Craft from Recycled Materials

What you need:

craft materials

  • Cardboard tubes
  • Construction paper
  • Paint, paintbrush, or paint markers
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Stapler

What you do:

  1. Look through books and magazines for pictures of birds to get inspiration.
  2. Draw a bird beak and wings on construction paper. Color or paint as you like. Cut them out, and have them ready.
  3. Close one end of a cardboard tube by flattening it and stapling across the bottom.
  4. To make the bird head, flatten the other end of the stapled tube. Use scissors to cut off the corners on the top and bottom.
  5. Glue the beak to one side of the round tube so the triangle points out. Staple the head side of the tube closed, leaving the beak exposed.
  6. Glue on the bird’s wings.
