Car Seat-Safe Coat Keeps Children Safe and Warm this Season

COZYWOGGLE LAUNCHES NATIONALLY JUST IN TIME FOR WINTER
First Car Seat-Safe Coat Keeps Children Safe and Warm this Season

Alexandria, VA, December 10, 2013 Cozywoggle, the only coat that is proven to be safer to wear in a car seat, will be available nationally this winter for children ages 1 to 6. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children between ages 2-14, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Parents may not know that part of the reason for this is that in the event of an accident, a heavy winter coat compresses, leaving the harness loose and increasing the child’s risk for ejection from the car seat and/or the possibility of injuries from the loose belts. Cozywoggle is the first of its kind that acts as a winter coat, yet has been proven through crash testing*, to be safer in an accident.

³As parents, we excel at safety-proofing our homes – putting up gates on our stairs and latches on our cabinets – but then we inadvertently jeopardize our children’s safety by putting them into their car seats wearing traditional coats,² said Cherlyn Jenkins, CEO of CJ¹s Kids. ³I needed to find a way to keep my children warm, while also keeping them safe, and decided to create a product of my own.²

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, child restraint systems are often used incorrectly. One study found that 72% of nearly 3,500 observed car and booster seats were misused in a way that could be expected to increase a child¹s risk of injury during a crash. Using Cozywoggle can contribute to the safety of children and provide that relief all parents are looking for when it comes to car seat safety issues.

The Cozywoggle:
Is the only product that looks and acts as a coat, but is safe to be worn in a car seat.
Is made from heavy-duty wind/water resistant polyester, and is lined with cozy fleece.
Can be used with any 5-point harness car seat – either forward or rear-facing.
Comes in sizes 12 months, 18 months, 2T, 3T, 4, 5 and 6.
Is available in four colors (red, navy blue, purple and pink) at the retail price of $74.99.
Is stylish (and looks like a “regular” coat), warm and washable.
Has been crash tested in a lab and proven to be safe in a car seat.
Can be worn in a car seat and all around town.
Is easy-to-use and is a convenient, all-in-one solution for busy parents.

For more information or to purchase a Cozywoggle, visit http://www.cozywoggle.com/ and join the conversation on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Cozywoggle.

*Crash tests conducted at an NHTSA approved lab, MGA Resarch, have demonstrated that wearing the Cozywoggle while riding in a car seat is safer than wearing a traditional coat. In fact, the Cozywoggle was proven to be as safe as riding in a car seat without any coat at all.

About CJ’s Kids, LLC
CJ’s Kids, LLC was started by Cherlyn Jenkins, a mom and entrepreneur, who was a special education teacher and behavior specialist for 20 years. When she learned that young children shouldn’t be placed in car seats while wearing their coats, she had a newborn and a toddler. She needed to find a way to keep her children warm, while also keeping them safe without juggling even more Items, but she couldn’t find a viable solution. So she invented the Cozywoggle, the only product that looks and acts like a coat, but has been proven safe to be worn in a car seat. Because she felt that such a product should be available to all parents, Jenkins started CJ’s Kids, LLC in 2012 to bring her product to the public. CJ’s Kids, LLC is based in Alexandria, VA, where Jenkins tries to balance the non-stop excitement of work and family responsibilities.
