The Hughes Center

The Hughes Center is a psychiatric residential treatment facility located in Danville, Virginia. We admit two distinct populations: adolescents and young adults diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability and an Axis I diagnosis; or individuals dually diagnosed with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder (Autism and Asperger’s) and an Axis I diagnosis. The Hughes Center is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are an accredited member of the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities. Additionally, we are approved as a Medicaid provider in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
